Husky Families! As part of our continued work to make afternoon car dismissal safer and more efficient, car-rider families will receive a new Visor Car Sign in their student’s HW folder today. Signs are color-coded by grade: red for Kindergarten, orange for Grade 1, yellow for Grade 2, green for Grade 3, and blue for Grade 4. Please remove the sign from the HW folder and display it on your vehicle’s visor during afternoon pickup so our staff can quickly identify the students you are picking up.
In addition, every student who is a car rider will have a matching color-coded car-rider tag placed on the grab handle of their backpack. These two changes will help our team identify and organize students more quickly as cars move through the dismissal line. Please leave the backpack tag attached throughout the school year and keep your visor sign in your vehicle. Thank you for helping us continue moving toward our goal of completing car dismissal by 3:20 p.m.!

Husky Families! Good morning! We continue to make great progress with our car arrival and dismissal procedures! Yesterday afternoon, after making several adjustments to our process—a special thank you to Ms. Larkin and Ms. Sullivan for their leadership here—we completed car dismissal by 3:26 p.m., a nine-minute improvement from Monday and just six minutes from our 3:20 p.m. goal! This morning, we cleared the car drop-off line by 8:43 a.m., two minutes before morning arrival ends at 8:45 and just three minutes from our 8:40 a.m. goal. Thank you for continuing to follow the traffic pattern, have students ready to exit, and work with us as we refine these systems. Your cooperation is making a noticeable difference each day! A big thank you as well to our PTO Board and family volunteers for supporting this process every step of the way!
Husky Families! Good morning! Happy First Day of School! Thank you for your patience and support with our car drop-off process this morning. Our goal is to improve our time each day until the process is as safe and efficient as possible. This morning, all cars were through the line by 8:50 a.m., and our goal is to have all cars already in line through by 8:40 a.m. We will continue refining the process each day and, for accountability and transparency, will share our daily completion time with you. Families can help us reach our goal by following the established traffic pattern, keeping the left side of Roy Ave clear for through traffic, and having students and their belongings ready so they can exit promptly once the car is safely stopped in the unloading area. We had a few cars stopped along the left side of Roy Ave this morning, which slowed traffic and created congestion, so we appreciate everyone helping us keep that lane clear. Thank you again for your patience, flexibility, and partnership as we work together to make morning arrival safer and more efficient each day!
Hill-Roberts is ready and excited to start the new school year for grades 1-4 Monday!
