Dear Hill-Roberts Families,

We hope everyone is taking good care!

With February break coming up in three weeks and Valentine’s day on the horizon, just a heads up that we will be having several fun, themed Spirit days the week of 2/14 (more on this soon!). Also, just a reminder of the District's food policy: no food or candy items are allowed to be sent in to be shared with classmates. However, pencils, stickers, and cards are all perfectly fine to send in if you choose!

With that said, it has come to my attention that the District’s food policy has not always been followed/enforced at Hill-Roberts. I appreciate the feedback and I apologize for any confusion and inconsistencies on our end - thank you for working with us to keep our learning environment as healthy and safe as possible!

For now, check out this week's updates and, as always, keep the feedback coming!

Sincerely,

Dr. Paul Madden, Principal

Mrs. Nora Hassan, Assistant Principal

Attendance Support

We know that families play an essential role in reinforcing timely and regular student attendance. See the link below for some tips on encouraging and supporting your student. As a reminder, all APS Attendance Policies can be found in the student handbooks.

Save the date! A Night to Discover: APS Student Learning and Community Partnership Showcase

On March 14, 2024, from 6:00-7:30 PM, Attleboro Public Schools (APS) will host A Night to Discover: APS Student Learning and Community Partnership Showcase. Now in the second year of this annual event, this evening is an opportunity for APS staff, students, families, and community organizations to come together as students throughout the district display their learning experiences and local community resources share information about their services and programs. The goal of this event is to bring all stakeholders from the community together to celebrate student successes and share resources. More information to come soon. We look forward to seeing you there!

February Spirit Week/ District Food Policies

We will be having several fun, themed days the week of 2/14 (more on this soon!). Just a reminder about the District's food policy: no food or candy items are allowed to be sent to be shared with classmates. However, pencils, stickers, and cards are all perfectly fine to send in if you choose!”

Reminder - Grade 3 and 4 Student Survey (Week of 2/5)

Each year, students in grades 3-12 participate in a survey as part of Attleboro's involvement in the Massachusetts Consortium for Innovative Education Assessment (MCIEA) which aims to help schools and the community measure school quality outside of simply relying on MCAS data. Our third and fourth grade students will be participating in this year's survey between now and February break. The survey takes approximately 15-30 minutes and is done during class. If you would like to see the results of previous surveys/questions, please visit the MCIEA School Quality Measures Dashboard.

Reminder - Nurse Update - Dental Visits, Vision and Hearing Screenings, Eyeglass Donations

  • Dental Visits - The  mobile dentist will be back at Hill Roberts on Tuesday, Feb 27th.  If your child was seen in the Fall, they will automatically be seen on this day.  If you do not have a dentist,  and would like your child to be seen, please contact the nurse for a sign up form.

  • Vision and Hearing screenings are moving along.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

  • Eyeglass Donations - I am still collecting eyeglasses for the South Attleboro Lions club, they accept adult and child single vision lenses, reading glasses.  They are not able to use progressive style lenses.  Please send them in with your student to bring to the nurse.
