Dear Hill-Roberts Families,

We hope everyone is staying warm and cozy this weekend!

January feels like it is flying by! On the teacher/learning end, we continue to dig into the results of our students’ Winter assessments and overall, we are very proud of our Huskies hard work and growth!

On the student/school environment end, feel free to check in with your student(s) about our revamped morning announcements! Soon, we will be inviting students to turn in a few CREST tickets for the opportunity to enter a submission for Trivia Tuesday, World Language Wednesday, Thoughtful Thursday (quote), or Funny Friday (clean and clever jokes). This could even be something fun to work with your child on!

For now, please check out this week's updates, including the PTO store, which is open from now through February 2nd.

Sincerely,

Dr. Paul Madden, Principal

Ms. Nora Hassan, Assistant Principal

If you feel as if your child may have misplaced an item of clothing, please feel free to search our lost and found located outside the front office. If it helps, here is a picture below:

Update - Attendance and Attendance Letters (Week of 1/22)

There are real and valid reasons why a child needs to be absent, and we 100% support that. However, attendance is critical to the success of your child as they cannot learn, if they are not in school. We are asking for your help with ensuring that your child attends school daily and is on time (walker door closes at 8:45am). We only have them for 180 school days and want to make the most of it. To that end, a form letter will be sent early this week to all families with students with 8 or more absences. Please keep communication open with the school regarding attendance. We are here to support you!

Update - Grade 3 and 4 Student Survey (Week of 1/29)

Each year, students in grades 3-12 particpate in a survey as part of Attleboro's involvement in the Massachusetts Consortium for Innovative Education Assessment (MCIEA) which aims to help schools and the community measure school quality outside of simply relying on MCAS data. Our third and fourth grade students will be participating in this year's survey between now and February break. The survey takes approximately 15-30 minutes and is done during class. If you would like to see the results of previous surveys/questions, please visit the MCIEA School Quality Measures Dashboard.

Nurse Update - Dental Visits, Vision and Hearing Screenings, Eyeglass Donations

  • Dental Visits - The  mobile dentist will be back at Hill Roberts on Tuesday, Feb 27th.  If your child was seen in the Fall, they will automatically be seen on this day.  If you do not have a dentist,  and would like your child to be seen, please contact the nurse for a sign up form.

  • Vision and Hearing screenings are moving along, I have started working on 1st grade.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

  • Eyeglass Donations - I am still collecting eyeglasses for the South Attleboro Lions club, they accept adult and child single vision lenses, reading glasses.  They are not able to use progressive style lenses.  Please send them in with your student to bring to the nurse.
