Dear Hill-Roberts Families,

We hope everyone is taking good care and enjoying the long weekend!

On our end, we are back in full swing! Even with a wonky start to the week (2-hour delay), it was an impactful learning week! Teachers have started unpacking our Winter data during common planning time this week and, while we always have room for improvement, we are quite proud of your students’ growth since the Fall!

In addition, we had our first, whole-school CREST assembly, where Hunter the Husky made a guest appearance. While we have had smaller CREST assemblies since October, it was great to see the whole school celebrating our school’s values (CREST=caring, respect, excellence, safety, and trust) together.

This week, not too many updates, but a few new dates to add to your calendars, plus a humble reminder from the school nurse to consider donating lightly-used pants.

Sincerely,

Dr. Paul Madden, Principal

Ms. Nora Hassan, Assistant Principal

  • Respiratory Illnesses - Covid, Flu and RSV are still with us as we start to move into the colder months of January and February.  Please remember to keep your child home if they are not feeling well, have a bad cough or have vomited, had diarrhea or fever in the past 24 hours. They may return to school once free of vomiting, diarrhea or fever with no medicine for at least 24 hrs. Free Covid kits are available through the link below: https://www.covid.gov/tools-an...

  • Vision and Hearing Screenings are well underway. I am currently ½ way through Second grade and will start on First grade in the next few weeks.  Please make sure your students are wearing their glasses every day.  Referrals will be sent home with the student.  If you do not want your student to participate, please send me a letter stating so.

  • Pants to Donate? I am in desperate need of pants, sizes 5/6  through 8/9. I am well stocked on larger sizes. I particularly need unisex or boys pants, but will gladly accept girls pants as well.

  • Recycling Eyeglasses - Lastly, if you have any old prescription eye glasses that you don’t know what to do with. I will gladly accept those and pass them onto the Lion’s Club for their Eyeglass Recycling Program.  The Lion’s Club is very involved with helping all of the schools support the various needs of our students and this is one way we can show our appreciation for all they do for our community.
