Dear Hill-Roberts Families,
What a week! Dozens upon dozens of feet of Kindness Chains were linked on Monday, about 200 HRES community members attended Family Literacy Night Thursday night, and over 70, 4th grade students sang at the Providence Bruins last night! Similarly, December has its own excitement planned from the Howliday Fair (12/1) to the Evening Holiday Concert (6:30pm) on 12/18.
For now, as we move into this short week, we are grateful and would like to give thanks for your sustained partnership in support of your student’s holistic development! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
No official Howler next weekend. For now, please read this week's updates and reminders, including information about Spirit Days next week, Picture Retake Day (11/29), and the Husky Howliday Fair (12/1)! Have a terrific weekend and many thanks for your ongoing support!
We wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving break!
Sincerely,
Dr. Paul Madden, Principal
Ms. Nora Hassan, Assistant Principal

Update - Hill-Roberts Receives $5000 Donation from Burlington Stores Ribbon Cutting
We are beyond grateful to announce that Burlington Stores, in celebration of its new store opening in Attleboro, has donated $5,000 through its partnership with the national non-profit organization, AdoptAClassroom.org, to Hill-Roberts Elementary School. Funds will be distributed among staff to use towards learning materials, tools, and supplies. Below is a picture of Dr. Madden, with our PTO leadership, accepting a novelty check from the new Burlington store’s management, on behalf of our staff and families.
Reminder - HRES Giving Tree RETURNS
Hill Roberts Elementary School has a tradition of supporting our community members with making some holiday wishes come true. If you would like to make a donation to our Giving Tree (by 12/18), please fill out this permission slip, allowing your student to take a gift tag from our tree. Tags will be available outside the front office starting the first week of December. If you are a family in need and have not been contacted by HRES about this opportunity please reach out to Jennifer Leach jleach@attleboroschools.com. See flier for student permission slip and more information about ways to participate.
Reminder - From the Nurse - Vision and Hearing Screening Update
4th grade Vision screenings are completed, and I will be moving onto 3rd grade Vision and Hearing screens. If your child wears glasses, please make sure they are bringing them to school every day. If your child does not meet the cut off values for these screenings, a Referral Letter will be sent home with your child. You may opt out of State Mandated Screenings by sending a letter to school requesting that they not be screened. Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
