To ensure important information doesn’t get lost over February break, our next Howler family newsletter will be sent on Friday, 2/20/2026.
In the meantime, Grade 4 families should be on the lookout for an email from our Middle School Principals regarding the music survey previously shared. This survey allows you to select your child’s Grade 5 music option for the upcoming school year.
We wish you a wonderful and restful February break and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, 2/23, when school resumes!
Sincerely,
Dr. Madden
Reminder that tomorrow, February 13th, is a half day of school and dismissal is at 12:25. If your student's afternoon transportation plan is changing, please inform their teacher and the front office.

Good morning families! Today APS will delay its opening by two hours today, Wednesday, 2/11/2026. We have not done this in a while, so I wanted to clarify. This means that HRES' doors will open for students at 10:30am. Dismissal will still be at 3:25pm. Lunch will be served for all. For bus families, this means that your bus pick up times are +2 hours as well. For example, if your bus pick up time is 7:50am (+/-10 mins), it is now 9:50am (+/- 10 mins). Thank you and please be careful on the snow.
Sincerely,
HRES

2.7.2026 Howler❄️ includes important updates such as this Friday’s half day (12:25 dismissal), the Book Drive this week for our upcoming free in-school book swap, Someone Special Dance tickets, winter pick-up reminders, Grade 2 swim info, and more. 1) Drive down Roy Ave
2) Pull over and park on right-side only
3) Pick Up your student, then continue down Roy Ave to the turnaround (see cones and Ms. O'Boyle).
Please, no 3-point turns as this creates safety issues for families walking back to their cars.
For those receiving this as a text, please check our Facebook post, your e-mail, or your APS Rooms App Notification for a diagram. Thank you for your support and understanding as we balance safety with efficiency.
